Back to nearworthyCOMMUNITY STANDARDS

Real experiences.
Fair reviews.

Updated October 9, 2026. These rules apply equally to positive and negative reviews.

Who can review

Sign in and describe a genuine experience with the business. One review per account per business is allowed. Owners, employees, competitors, and people paid or rewarded for reviewing must not submit reviews. Account sign-in is not proof of a purchase, and we do not label reviews “verified purchases.”

What we publish

Reviews should describe the service or experience in your own words. Honest criticism is welcome. We do not publish spam, advertising, duplicate or irrelevant content, fake experiences, threats, harassment, or sensitive personal information. Do not include someone’s private phone number, email, medical details, financial information, or identity documents.

Moderation

Every review is held for administrator review before publication. Automated rules flag potential spam; they do not establish that a review is true or false. Negative reviews are not rejected because they are negative. Businesses cannot approve reviews about themselves, pay to remove criticism, or influence their score through sponsorship.

Moderators must choose a documented policy reason for rejection or removal. We record moderation decisions. If a reviewer or business reports a suspected fake review or policy violation, the administrator investigates rather than automatically hiding it.

How ratings work

A business’s nearworthy rating is the simple arithmetic mean of its currently published customer reviews, with each review weighted equally. Pending, rejected, and withdrawn reviews are excluded. An unrated business has no score, not zero stars. External platform reviews and ratings are not included in this calculation.

Business responses and reports

Only the account with an approved business claim may submit an owner response. Responses follow these rules and are moderated before appearing. Signed-in visitors can report reviews for a specific policy concern. A disagreement with a rating alone is not a removal reason.

Your information and permission

Your chosen display name, star rating, review text, and date are public when approved. Your account identifier is stored privately for access control and spam prevention. By submitting, you grant nearworthy a non-exclusive permission to store and display your review and chosen public name for this directory. You retain ownership of your writing.

You may withdraw your own pending or published review from its business page. It is then removed from public display and the rating calculation. The directory may retain a private moderation record. Do not submit content you lack permission to share.

Corrections and appeals

For a privacy request, listing correction, or appeal of a moderation decision, email support@nearworthy.com. Include the relevant business or review link so the directory operator can locate your request. Do not send passwords or identity documents.

Our approach follows the FTC’s guidance for review platforms.
