come from.
A growing directory, not a complete census
nearworthy combines independently researched launch listings, licensed open place data, official facility records, and approved owner submissions. No source includes every operating business. Home-based, new, unlisted, or poorly documented businesses may be missing. A source’s “open” status is not a live operating-hours check.
Overture Maps Foundation
Bulk place data is derived from the Overture Places dataset, release 2026-09-23.1. Source providers and license identifiers are preserved with the import provenance. Records were geographically filtered, screened for source-reported operating status and confidence, categorized, and conservatively deduplicated. Imported listings are not individually verified.
Overture and its contributing source providers are credited under their applicable permissive licenses. These include CDLA Permissive 2.0, Apache 2.0, and CC0 1.0. Where applicable, the full Foursquare NOTICE is retained. See Overture’s attribution guidance.

Foursquare OS Places
Additional candidate listings come from the Foursquare OS Places dataset, snapshot dated September 15, 2026, accessed October 9, 2026. This data is licensed under Apache 2.0; the full Foursquare notice is preserved. nearworthy applies the Raleigh city boundary, business-category and freshness checks, closure and quality-flag exclusions, and conservative matching against existing listings. Missing closure dates do not verify that a business is open. Source refresh dates do not guarantee current operating details.
Wake County GIS
Raleigh city membership uses Wake County’s Corporate Limits boundary, selected for effective Raleigh polygons. Official active food-facility records supplement the place data after retail-business eligibility checks. Both are attributed to Wake County GIS under CC BY 4.0. nearworthy has filtered, categorized, deduplicated, and combined this data; Wake County does not endorse the directory. Food-facility permits identify regulated operations, not necessarily separate companies. Institutional cafeterias and mobile-unit registration addresses are excluded from the main bulk import, and overlapping departments are reconciled where identifiable.
Local address lookup
After a visitor chooses “Use my location,” nearworthy can match the detected point to nearby Wake County GIS MAR Address Points. This licensed CC BY 4.0 dataset is stored locally as spatial groups; visitor coordinates are not forwarded to the data provider. Unit-level records are collapsed to base street addresses without inferring apartments. A displayed address means a nearby mapped point, not proof of the visitor’s exact building. Poor device accuracy or unavailable coverage can prevent a street-address result. This is a snapshot collected October 9, 2026, not a live address registry. Researched and claimed listings
The original 150 listings retain their independently researched details and identifiers. Source-backed coordinates may fill previously missing locations. An approved claim identifies a reviewed connection to a business; it does not endorse that business or guarantee its services.
Coordinates, hours, and ratings
Coordinates come from attributed source data or the US Census Geocoder. Census positions are interpolated address-range estimates. Distance results are approximate straight-line miles and exclude records without coordinates. Business hours are shown only when supplied by a checked source; bulk imports may have no hours. nearworthy ratings use only its own published customer reviews. No Google, Yelp, or other third-party review scores are imported or combined.
Corrections and missing businesses
Business details change. Confirm important information directly before visiting. Owners can submit a missing business or claim an eligible listing for review. For listing corrections or appeals, email support@nearworthy.com. This site is a public preview.
